Have you ever watched Family Vacation, Vegas Vacation? You know, that one with Chevy Chase? Do you remember how his character would never win, and yet his son, who had a fake ID with the name “Papa Georgio” won every time? In the movie the spoof was that the dad had no luck at all, and the son, while lying, was winning the world. The casino comped the son a room, food, and playing chips. Have you ever wondered if that was real? Well, that particular scenario might be a stretch, but it it true, hotels do provide comps to their high paying, or what they hope to be high paying, clientele.
Some of the comps, short for compensations, that you might see if you were a high roller, is your own personal concierge. This person is at your beck and call no matter the time of day. For instance, if you were rolling in the bucks, and you got a sweet tooth at three in the morning. You could call your personal concierge, ask them for whatever it was that you wanted, and they would provide it to you. Another comp is free limo service anywhere you wanted to go, within reason. Many hotels offer this service so that you can feel freedom to travel to any casino in town, in hopes that you would reward their generosity by staying right where you are.
Shows are another way that casinos try to butter you up. They will provide the best seats in the house for their most popular shows. This is all an attempt at getting you to spend more money on their property. They might even go so far as to giving you a free room, shows, limo service, and whatever else they can think of, with no ifs, ands, or buts.
